Schedule ahead

In a SB Weekly section, everybody plays against everybody:

  • either one game (single Round Robin),
  • or two games (double Round Robin).

That means, you cannot request a BYE in order to skip a round. But you may schedule your games ahead of the official round.

How it works

At the beginning of the tourney, all game forums for every round for every player open up at once. There is still an official round 1, round 2 etc. serving as a guideline (with contact deadlines that should be met), but you are allowed to schedule (and even play!) all your games ahead of the official round. This might appeal to you if you e.g. could easily play several games in the third week of January, or in the third week of February, but you will be too busy to play during the first two weeks of February. There might be less no-play draws, if you and your opponent have six weeks to chose from, instead of just one.

Extensions, as in Teamleague, are allowed. You and your opponent may chose to play:

  • before the official round,
  • during the official round,
  • in the week after the official round.

Disclaimer

Our SB Monthly and SB Rapid tournaments have a Swiss format. The "Schedule ahead" feature is not available there, but you may request a BYE when you're busy.
