If you are the winner of one of our buckets, you may opt to play up in a future SB tourney. This might give you games against players who are on average 100-200 rating points stronger than you.
After the sign-up to an SB tournament is closed, provisional buckets will be created. Previous SB bucket winners then have roughly one day to opt to play up. You may

In the following example, you won the Ding Bucket in SB 1. You join us in SB 2 again. Depending on where your current rating has put you upon provisional creation of buckets, you have several options:
Opting not to play up will retain your promotion rights for future SB tourneys. If you win another bucket, they may even pile up to let you "play up two buckets".
Playing up rights are transferable between SB Weekly/Monthly tournaments. Since buckets are not comparable with regard to strength and size, you may play up exactly 1 bucket from where your rating has put you upon provisional creation of buckets.
