Playing Up one Bucket
If you won one of our buckets, you may opt to play up in a future SB tourney. This might give you games against players who are stronger than you.
Options
During the tourney sign-up period, provisional buckets are created. Once the sign-up is closed, previous SB bucket winners have roughly one day to opt to play up. You may
- stay where the provisional creation of buckets has put you,
- or play one bucket up from there,
- or even play two buckets up from there, in case you won two buckets in the past.
Notes
You cannot play in two buckets at the same time.
Opting not to play up will retain your promotion rights for future SB tourneys.
Playing up rights are transferable between SB Monthly/Weekly/Rapid/Knockout tournaments.
Players who may still opt up, are marked with a green font on the Confirmed players page.
A player opting to play up, may cause the lowest seed of the higher bucket to swap buckets. Whenever possible, we'll ask what your preference is. In those cases, when you need to be swapped (e.g. full bucket), we hope for your understanding.
